A New Resident

Ayalguu is 4 years old. She lived with her father and mother until things went wrong. Her mother was sentenced to prison by the court for being “deliberately involved in the death of her husband.” After a complex procedure with many objections, custody was granted to her grandmother. Although her grandmother pleaded for this, it did not go well. Her home was unsuitable, she had insufficient income, and was not in the best mental state. After a year of trying, Ayalguu was moved to Anna Home. Here, she is making a fresh start and now attends preschool. We truly hope that her terrible first years have not caused her too much harm.

A New Kitchen

After the major fire in 2019, we rebuilt Anna Home in a great hurry. It came together wonderfully thanks to the tremendous efforts of many people. However, the kitchen wasn’t quite up to the quality needed to serve our “family” of 25 people properly, and it quickly fell into disrepair. We believe nutrition is important and must be prepared in a way that’s good and hygienic. And now, we have a new kitchen! Two generous donations, one from a foundation and another from a kind individual, made it possible. We aim for it to last at least 10 years, so we chose high-quality cabinets and stainless-steel counters.

Boldsaikhan and his children are painting the walls and decorating them with cheerful pictures. There’s still a little money left to buy a new oven, and when we visit in January, we’ll also look into getting new tables and chairs.

Christmas Card

You, our loyal donors, are undoubtedly eagerly awaiting the annual card from Choibalsan, with greetings and thanks from the children. This will indeed happen again this year, but just a bit later. We hope to send one during our stay there.
This provides an opportunity for others to qualify for a card too. I promise that anyone who supports us financially before Christmas and whose address we have will receive one. Expenses keep rising, and we really need your help! And the card, with beautiful Mongolian stamps on it, is truly worth something special. The very best support would be if you commit to an annual contribution via a contract I can send you, which would then be tax-deductible. Even one Euro per day helps us enormously.
I also urge anyone who hasn’t yet sent in their annual contribution to consider doing so.
