Graduated!

Altantulga received his master’s degree in graphic design in June, and not just that: he received the gold medal from the Mongolian Youth Federation for his high score and for his help to other students. He lived in Anna Home all his childhood. The first photo dates from 2007.

Anuudari also graduated. She trained as a hairdresser at the technical school in Choibalsan. She has lived with us since 2018. We very much hope that she will succeed in shaping her life. She will need help with this, we are worried about her. Boldsaikhan is working to arrange support for the years to come. Unfortunately, Mongolia does not have the principle of “supported housing”. Maybe her older sister, who also lived with us, but now lives in Ulaanbaatar, can do something for her. How great would it be if the children who grew up in Anna Home would form a network to support their younger “brothers and sisters” who need some extra help. There are dozens of ex-residents who could do that just fine. Many found their way in life and formed families with children. In Mongolian culture this is not common and yet I would like to start this. But how?

Graduation hasn’t really happened yet, but our little girls have passed the first grade and are moving on to the second with shining results. That was also celebrated.

Taekwondo

In 2006 I met Boldsaikhan at his taekwondo school. He still teaches those lessons, it is an important part of his life. His pupils achieve success in all kinds of tournaments. Ganchimeg, a resident of Anna Home, is one of the top athletes, he recently won many victories, including at the national championships. The National Taekwondo Organization declared him the best sports boy!

Summer vacation

The summer holidays have started and that means there is time for all kinds of chores:

Some bedrooms are painted in cheerful colours

There is time for games

Belegsaikhan teaches gardening in and outside the greenhouse, just like in previous years.

The police provide information about some laws, about safety and about emergency numbers.
