The last months we worked hard organising the mountain bike tour to Anna Home. You received e-mail about it. The first 4 participants subscribed! But there is place for more. ONLINE DONATIONS

From today on, online donation to Anna Home is possible. This link will bring you to the right page. We do not have to pay any contribution for this possibility, but the organisation “Geefgratis” will keep 10% of every donation to cover their costs. “No cure no pay”. So a direct donation to our bank account will still be the most profitable, but from abroad this is not always easy. And we also think that individuals who want to donate once, will use this.

INTERNET

A few days ago Anna Home was connected to the internet. By connecting them to the rest of the world we hope to help them. A computer teacher will teach them together with the Peace Corps volunteer Koty Erdman, who is in the house every Saturday. We are expecting 25 Facebook pages, in Mongolian, who will connect you directly to them. We are also looking for a school to make contact with the children.

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTS

The Dutch foundation All for Children finalised the account for 2011 on April 15 (in Dutch). You can download it here.
The Mongolian foundation is working on the last details of their own account. As soon as it will be ready, we will publicise it on the website.

NEW CHILDREN

Most of the children in Anna Home are not orphans. Many have parents who do not take care of them, because they have no money and no home, because they are in prison and because of other reasons. Sometimes life improves somewhat for the parents and then they want to care for their own children. Sometimes the management of Anna Home does not agree with this, because they expect that the children will not be taken care of very well and that they will not go to school. But the Mongolian law is clear about this: the parents have the right to raise their own child.
This is the reason that some children leave Anna Home and that new children enter.
Such as the brothers Erdenetogs (15 years) and Erdenezaya (14), who live in Anna Home since a few weeks. Their mother died in January, their father is not available. They did go to primary school, but never to a high school.

Two days ago Boldsaikhan was called to the police station because a father and his two little sons were there after a fight. Father is now in a mental hospital, the police and a lawyer asked to take the boys to Anna Home. Bukhchuluun of 7 and his big brother of 9 now live there.

SOME OTHER NEWS

The doctors from the local hospital visited Anna Home again. They informed the children about health and they did a check up. They all were healthy.
In the training centre the boys make lots of wooden toys now.
The garden is being prepared already.

Students of the technical school came to improve the room of the big boys. They also gave a concert together with the Anna Home children.
