2025 July
Uchral, our new resident
Uchral is a 15-year-old girl. Sadly, both of her parents have passed away. She now lives in Anna Home, and we all hope she will be able to find her place and stay with us for a few more years.
Uuriintuya to Japan
Uuriintuya began her studies in Global Leadership in September 2022 at the business school of the university in Ulaanbaatar. She is working very hard and is doing well. She has been selected for a one-year program in Japan. There, she will work at a Japanese company while continuing her studies in Mongolia online. The company provides her with housing, meals, and a small salary. Fai del Bene, the foundation we closely collaborate with, generously contributes to her remaining expenses.
I asked her to write something herself about what she is doing. This was her response:
I am excited to share that I am currently participating in a joint program between my university and Japan—an opportunity I have been diligently preparing for since my sophomore year. After learning about the program, I consulted my mentor, Enkhee, and began laying the groundwork for my application, including enrolling in Japanese language courses. Given the program’s competitive nature, I committed myself to intensive language training over the past year, knowing that failure to pass the interview would require me to cover the full annual tuition fee for Japanese classes. Fortunately, my efforts were successful, and I was selected for the program. I am now completing an internship at Yukai Resort in Toba, located just two hours from Osaka. Today marked my first day of kitchen training, and I am grateful that the resort provides full accommodation and meals, allowing me to focus entirely on this invaluable experience. Alongside my internship, I am continuing my academic studies online and will return next June to complete my degree. My initial impressions of Japan have been overwhelmingly positive. The country’s cleanliness, exceptional cuisine, and the kindness of its people have made my transition smooth and enjoyable. I look forward to further immersing myself in Japanese work culture, refining my professional skills, and gaining insights that will benefit my future career. I sincerely appreciate the Fai del bene foundation’s generous support. I am fully committed to making the most of this opportunity, and I will strive to achieve success that honors everyone who has contributed to my journey.
Sabbatical for Boldsaikhan
Since 2006, Boldsaikhan has devoted himself wholeheartedly to caring for the children of Anna Home. Now, after 19 years, he is ready for a break. We fully understand this and agreed that he would receive four months of paid leave to spend as he chooses. On top of that, he has become a grandfather!
This is what he wrote about it himself:
In mid-June of this year, I decided to take a long-term vacation to focus on my health, devote time to my education, and recharge and develop myself. It was essential to discuss this decision with my team and advisors and to consult together.
Before starting my vacation, I paid attention to transferring my job responsibilities, training the person who would cover for me, and providing the necessary recommendations, ensuring that I made the appropriate preparations.
Currently, I am back in Ulaanbaatar City. The reason is that my eldest daughter has just given birth and welcomed a baby boy, so I aimed to meet with the doctor, monitor my daughter’s condition, and provide psychological support. Tomorrow, I plan to return to my hometown to continue my summer vacation.
I am confident that during this vacation, I will develop myself, focus on my health, and gain enough energy to carry out my work effectively in the future. This is the first time in the past twenty years that I have taken such a long vacation.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of you who have shown trust and support and worked together with me.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
P. Boldsaikhan
He will be spending a lot of time in China. I hope to include a report from him in the next newsletter.
Interim Director Lkhagvasuren
To temporarily take over his work, Boldsaikhan has found a replacement. He introduces himself:
My name is Lkhagvasuren. I am very happy to be working with the Anna Home organization. I am a psychologist by profession and have twelve years of work experience in a government institution. Of those, I worked two years as a psychologist in a children’s organization.
I am 33 years old and live in Choibalsan with my wife and our three daughters, who are 6, 5, and 1 year old.
At the moment, I am studying the personal files of each child. The children here are very kind, and the colleagues I work with have many years of experience, so I have not encountered major difficulties so far. Every child here has experienced a difficult life. But I believe Anna Home gives them confidence in the future, helps them understand the good in life, and gives them motivation and hope.
Even after the children become university students, Anna Home doesn’t let go of them, but supports them with tuition, housing, and other costs. I believe this is a tremendous opportunity in their lives. Over the past 20 years, this valuable organization has given a future to hundreds of children.
